What are porcelain veneers?

To close gaps, straighten teeth, or cover stains, many patients prefer porcelain veneers. Handcrafted veneers can take years off of your appearance and give you the self-confidence you deserve. Porcelain veneers are thin shells of hard porcelain designed to meet Dr. Jost’s specifications.

How are porcelain veneers accomplished?

During your first visit, Dr. Jost will prepare your teeth and take impressions, which the ceramist will use for your porcelain veneers. You’ll wear temporary veneers until the final restorations are ready. The temporaries will allow Dr. Jost to assess the fit and appearance, which will translate to your final veneers. At your next appointment, we will make adjustments to the lab-crafted veneers, if necessary, and then permanently bond them to your teeth. Many patients choose to combine veneers with teeth whitening so that the new restorations will closely match existing teeth for a natural appearance.

If you want a fabulous smile, call our dental office today and schedule an appointment with Dr. Jost to discuss veneers. We look forward to treating you and your entire family. Our practice serves patients from Calgary and the surrounding areas.

How does Dr. Jost design custom veneers?

Dr. Jost will measure your facial features and teeth. He’ll record the shade of your tooth enamel. The length of your gum tissue will also be noted. You may review before and after photos of smiles you admire so that Dr. Jost can consult with you on the attributes you want your new smile to reflect. With this and other clinical information, Dr. Jost will design porcelain veneers sure to make you smile.
